The Oakland University Panhellenic Council hosts its annual Sorority Formal Recruitment each Fall semester. During this period you are able to meet all five Panhellenic Chapters that OU's Campus has to offer. We encourage you to do the following when choosing to join a sorority:

1) Do Your Research

Make sure to look over what each chapter has to offer and to keep an open mind during the formal recruitment process. Feel free to contact anyone of the chapters if you have any questions. Joining a sorority is a commitment so its best to know what you are getting into before hand. By doing your research it also helps to see the similarities and differences between the chapters.

2) Meet the members within the sororities

During formal recruitment you will have an opportunity to meet all the members of each chapter. Although feel free to talk to any of the members around campus, you usually can find them wearing their chapter's letters. Also the chapters all host different events on/off campus throughout the year. The biggest difference between each of the chapters are the members. It is important that you make sure you can see yourself hanging out with these girls during your free time , and most of all that you are able to be yourself around them!

3) Do Not limit yourself to just one sorority

We encourage everyone that decides to go through formal recruitment to keep an open mind and to make a decision that is right for you. Do not pick a chapter you do not fall in love with. Just because your friend really likes a chapter does not mean that the chapter she likes is truly the one for you.

We are very excited in your interest about joining a Sorority and we hope to hear from you soon! If you have any questions at all or you would just like to say hi, feel free to email us.
